These machined aluminum bushings replace the softer original factory rubber bushings on the shift cables where they attach to the shift arm at the transmission. I use blue lock-tite on my motor mount bolts. If you bought your car new, you probably already wondered what that red circular thing in the glove compartment was. Took about half hour or so, remove airbox pop off cables, carefully break black plastic with screwdriver. Pop off each cable end from the shift arms. Thanks alot Ford way to make people want to come back and buy from you agian!!!! To remove the cable end from the shift tower- just press the button and pull up as shown. Make sure to check the relay before you install a used shifter. Because of these features, and because we're pretty successful at finding any type of Ford parts, including shifter cables, we're confident that you will use our service again and again. I broke some clips, and had to use zip ties to hold things up. And get this Ford said that they wouldn't pay for the repair even though I think it is a defective part. At 50,000 mile my shifting cable broke leaving me stranded on the side of the road in 20 degree weather.
