I'm betting the code they pull is generic like top is not closing properly which basically tells you nothing. I'll keep an eye on it for the next week or so and see what happens. It's Saturday and no service departments open. Must be one heck of a load on that one side and a twisting one at that. With the key, with the electric trunk release, with a locksmith, and with a big hammer and screwdriver. Top not secure probably means a latch or switch. To test this press down on the roof lid and the try to open the trunk. My mechanicals failed a few months back and the top got stuck half up. I stuck it into the keyhole above the licence plate and was able to open the trunk manually. Called my friend at my old gm workplace, really need to know what part you are talking about, cuz this would help large!! Any opinions or experiences of your own? That and most tops have a safety switch to keep it from jamming up. We had to remove one of the hydraulic arms to release the trunk amd put it down but it wouldnt latch shut. It sure sounds like a similar problem that mine experienced briefly although mine manifested itself going down instead of coming back up. Apparently it needs a part that I'm told is no longer available part nbr 25906914. I think I'd take it in and at least see if they'll scan it.
