Spring came along, and now it doesn't start at all. I cleaned the main jet with solvent and poked a wire through it to make sure it is clean. I don't know how the previous owner treated it, or when it's last oil change was. I used a carb rebuild kit, and I noticed that the choke assembly was not al there. A friend of mine has this Bayou 220 that started running bad and parked it a few years ago. I ordered front and rear brake shoes yesterday, then realized the set I ordered does not come with those stupid little springs.
The pull knob is there, and he plunger inside is there but it is broken and was frozen inside the carb. I cant figure out how to delete the thread, so I apologize! I foolishly volunteered to take a look at it. Sometime during then, I managed to break the exhaust right before the muffler. A fluid is coming out of the exhaust, and I'm told it could be water from over winter. The engine is basically positioned in the rear, and it needs a good clean, I don't have a pressure washer, so I can get the built on dirt off. So, after putting the carb back on the bike I started it.
Hello everyone, This is my first time posting - hopefully I am in the right place. Blew air through the petcock etc. Thanks 50cc to150cc Service Manual For Tank Motorsports. I guess for good reason. I checked the airbox, and the air filter isn't for this quad, it also is barely sucking air.
Over winter, the throttle had dislocated, and I got it back in place. I can only find used springs on Ebay and can not find anyone selling new ones anywhere except with the shoes and were crazy expensive compared to what I paid. I disassembled the carb and rebuilt it with a kit. I tightened it and it consisted. We got it running, and all was good.
The summer before it had a hard time idling, but we fixed it by cleaning the carb, and messing with idle. Changed the oil and filter and air filter and new choke plunger and cable. I originally had the clip on the needle on the second from the top ring. A bolt on the engine has either oil or gas seeping through it,abd was loose. There appears to be little to no compression, based on this. The quad never use to idle, and now with a few adjustments the bike idles now. However, there appears to be a small o ring, washer and spring left over from the kit.
Also I can't find the model number listed but it looks like a 250 quadrunner 2wd and I think it is a 1987 maybe, can anyone help me, also I it has a rich running sound and I put a carb diap in it and cleaned the carb. I'm pretty sure the engine is flooded, as the spark plug produces a spark, but is oxidized. I noticed right away the choke plunger on the carb was broken and probably the reason it was running bad but now the old gas was evaporated and like turpentine. Hello I recently cleaned my carb on my 1987 Suzuki Lt230E Quadrunner. I wont have that for a few days.
Near the end of last year, the only way for it to fire was the have full choke, and full throttle, and the engine bogged down and you had to keep on throttle for 25mins. On the down side, the quad wont move. I freed the plunger and ordered a new one. Susan Edited March 10, 2015 by Bullseye Found Part Dealer I've had this machine for 2ish years, has ran great up until winter. .
It dies when I apply the throttle, but it will start back up every time. Any help on the will be greatly appreciated. Anyone have any idea where I can get my hands on a new set of these springs? The rubber boot between the carb and head does not have any cracks in it so I don't think it is leaking air. . . . .
